Braeside Community Garden

We are a community-run organisation dedicated to growing our neighbours’ wellbeing.

About us

Over the past decade, local community members have have transformed the previously derelict space on Maryhill Road into a thriving hub of community connection. We officially opened our gates as Braeside Community Garden in 2021.

We believe

  • everyone deserves dignity and happiness

  • access to healthy, fresh food is a fundamental right

  • community-operated spaces are a vital social resource

Play and rest

Right through the main gate there is a play area for kids and a picnic bench for friends and families to relax. Throughout the Garden there’s space for our community to connect, have fun, and unwind.

Share pre-loved items

In our donation box, you can contribute dry store food and other items you no longer need and take what you can use. By sharing resources we can create a more sustainable, generous and resourceful community.

We have a variety of plants growing in the garden, not just fruit and veg! You can identify plants, explore the worm wall, spot birds and more.
